What is Scrip?
Scrip is an easy fundraiser with no cost to you. Many of the places you shop and dine offer gift certificates and gift cards to schools at a discounted rate. You can then purchase them for face value. They spend just like cash & the school gets the difference between the face value and the discounted rate. You can use them for all your regular purchases as well as for gift giving. Thanks to purchases made with Scrip by Grand View families last year, merchants contributed over $55,000 to our school. Those families did not spend one cent extra than they were already going to spend. If you shop or dine at any of the places listed to the left, and you don’t use Scrip, you are essentially throwing away money that could be used to enhance your child’s education.
How to Order
All you need to do is complete the online form. You can use cash, checks, or credit cards ($150 minimum for credit cards). To place your credit card information on file, please stop by the Scrip table, or e-mail or call the Scrip Chair. We usually fill and deliver orders within 2 days of order submission. Once you submit/receive your order please send in your check to the GV office ASAP. Place it in an envelope with “Scrip Payment” written on the outside to ensure accurate routing.
What’s a Monthly Standing Order (MSO)?
The best way to remember to use Scrip is an MSO. You decide what you use on a regular basis (perhaps a coffee card or two, some restaurants that you know you go to at least once a month, movie tickets, what will cover groceries for the month) and submit a New Monthly Standing Order ($50 minimum). Then on the first Tuesday of every month school is in session, you will receive that amount of scrip via the delivery option you choose. It’s automatic and easy! You can use the web form when needed to revise your MSO as your needs change. Once you have established an MSO you can then use a web One Time Order, or stop by the scrip table to pick up certificates for merchants you use on occasion.
Order Delivery
You can opt to pick up your order in the GV Office, or have it delivered to your child’s teacher who will then place it in your child’s backpack to be brought home. If you choose the Backpack option, please understand that it is at your risk. Once we hand it to the teacher, and the teacher has given it to your child, we can no longer be responsible for what happens to it. If you choose Backpack, you are agreeing that you will deem your order received once it has been delivered to the designated teacher’s classroom.
Other Ways to “Do Scrip”
In addition to gift cards and certificates (Paper Scrip) there are several other things you can do to get the merchants you shop from to donate to our school. If you shop at Von’s and/or Macy’s, you can register your club & credit cards so that every time you swipe them at the register, Grand View gets a percentage. Just go to http://www.escrip.com and register using Grand View’s Group ID #137137319. You can also register major credit cards and corporate cards on their secure server. If you shop online, Grand View can benefit from your purchases if you sign-up through www.escrip.com’s Online Mall. Once you register, every time you visit a participating site (Gap.com, Nordstrom.com) through the eScrip Online Mall, our school will benefit. Be sure to choose the correct Grand View when registering! Lastly, if you shop at Ralph’s, you can enroll your Ralph’s Club Card so that Grand View can benefit every time you swipe it. To register go to http://www.ralphs.com, select Community Contributions, click on “SIGN UP” and register your card using Grand View’s NPO #83394. Or just turn in your name, address with zip, phone number and Ralph’s card number to the scrip team, and we will get it set up for you. In all of the above cases, you can get your family members and friends to register too, and no matter where they live or shop, Grand View will benefit.
