It’s Easy Being Green! Grand View Wins National Green Ribbons School Award!

Dear Grand View,

It is with much pride that I inform you that today Grand View Elementary School was officially selected as a “National Green Ribbon School”. This honor is only being awarded to 78 schools across the United States of America. With over 220,000 private and public schools in America this means that Grand View finds itself in the company of .0003% of all schools. I will be flying to Washington DC on June 3rd to accept this well-deserved award on behalf of our students, staff and parents who have clearly shown themselves to be worthy of the title, “Greenest School in the Nation”.

Congratulations to each of you for helping us obtain this honor.

Warm Regards,

Rhonda Steinberg

California Distinguished School

Grand View Elementary School Named as a 2010 California Distinguished School

Grand View Elementary School has officially been named as a 2010 California Distinguished School by State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jack O’Connell. It is an honor to recognize the schools and the students, parents, teachers, and administrators who helped earn this most prestigious distinction, said O’Connell. The 2010 California Distinguished Schools have been selected because of their academic excellence and for narrowing the achievement gaps. These schools have persevered despite state budget cutbacks that have cut deeply into the budgets of local school districts.
