Back to School means Back to Scrip!
Scrip is one of the largest fundraisers for our school and only successful with your participation. Here’s how it works….We buy gift cards both from local and national merchants at a discounted price and then we sell the cards to you at face value. It’s a savings ranging anywhere from 3-25% depending on the vendor when we buy it, and that up front savings is how we earn money. You then get to go spend the cards at face value knowing that Grand View is making money! So get out those shopping lists, dine out with your family and start to prepare for the holidays by ordering Scrip.
What is Scrip?
Scrip is an easy fundraiser with no cost to you. Many of the places you shop and dine offer gift certificates and gift cards to schools at a discounted rate. They spend just like cash and Grand View gets the difference between the face value and the discounted rate. Thanks to purchases made with Scrip and through our Reward Programs by Grand View families last year, merchants contributed over $25,000 to our school.
How to Order
During certain peak sales times during the year (including prior to winter recess and before the end of the year), Scrip will offer set periods in which orders may be placed. Those times will be advertised through flyers and in the Gator Gazette. Order forms will be sent home with students and will also be available online and in the school office. Complete the order form and submit it, along with a check for payment, by the given deadline. Once orders are filled (usually within a few days), they will be available for pick up in the office or distributed in your student’s backpack, according to the method selected on the order form. Orders submitted without payment will not be processed.
Other Ways to Give Effortlessly
In addition to SCRIP, there are several other ways to give without impacting your wallet. Check out our Reward Programs page for more info.
