Gators Give Back

 

It truly takes a village, and it’s no exception here at Grand View. Every program & every event is 100% run by our amazing parent volunteers…YOU! We need your help and commitment in keeping Grand View GREAT. Please choose at least one volunteer option for the 2018/19 school year. There are an assortment of options for every level of time commitment including shifts in the evening, on weekends, or during the school day. Thank you in advance for giving back to Grand View!

 

KEY

Time Commitment 1 = One day event, one shift.

Time Commitment 2 = May include meetings, some planning before the event or program.

Time Commitment 3 = Will include meetings, planning, executing an event or program.

 

Assemblies: 9/11, 12/7, 2/13, 3/14

We are looking for a committee of individuals that would work directly with Nancy helping to plan and execute all school assemblies. This is your opportunity to use your creative mind and get involved at a higher level! Time Commitment – 3

 

Movie Night: 9/14

Sign up for a shift at this time-honored tradition at Grand View. Some examples of shifts include: set-up, selling popcorn & candy, ticket check-in, etc.  This event is held in the afternoon/evening. The chair of this event will contact you to see where you’d like to fill in.

Time Commitment – 1

 

Parent Party:  12/1

Sign up to join a committee for one of GV’s biggest fundraisers…the annual parent party! This year, the event will be held at the new West Drift Hotel in MB. Some examples of committees include: decorations, set-up/clean-up, auction, etc. The Co-chairs of this event will contact you to see where you’d like to fill in. Time Commitment – 2

 

Battle of the Books: 12/5, 12/12

We’re excited to announce this new and fun competition to Grand View! We are looking for two committees to help organize the event: grades 2-5, grades 4-5 challenge. We also need some volunteers just to work shifts during the competition, i.e., asking questions, etc. This event will be held after school. Time Commitment – 1 or 2

 

S.T.E.A.M. Expo: 3/6

Sign up for a shift to work at our annual Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math Expo. This event is held in the evening. The co-chairs of this event will contact you to see where you’d like to fill in. Time Commitment – 1

 

Leprechaun Leap: 3/15

Sign up for a shift at our first annual “Leprechaun Leap.” This jog-a-thon is not only a fundraiser, but also a fun way for kids to get some exercise!  This event is held during the school day. The co-chairs of this event will contact you to see where you’d like to fill in.

Gator Run & Spring Fair: 5/4

Last year we combined these events and it was a great success! There are many opportunities to help out including: volunteering on the race route, ticket sales, carnival booths, etc.  This event is held on the weekend. The co-chairs of this event will contact you to where you’d like to fill in. Time Commitment – 1

 

Page’s Book Fair:  5/29 – 5/31

Sign up for a shift to work at our Page’s Spring Book Fair held in the Grand View Cafeteria. Shifts will be available during the day and one evening. The co-chairs of this event will contact you to see where you’d like to fill in. Time Commitment – 1

 

Grand View Gardens & Growing Great

Grand View students pride themselves in growing organic vegetables in our school garden. Do you have a green thumb? Would you like to help out in the garden planting & harvesting? Would you like to help students sell their organic harvest? This volunteer commitment would vary, based on your availability. Our garden team will contact you to see how and where you’d like to fill in. Time Commitment – 1 or 2

 

Grades of Green

We work hard at Grand View to be green, including our trash-free lunch initiative. Do you have time to help out during lunch in order to keep our school green & clean? Do you have a desire to help our environment and would love to share this passion with our students? We’d love your input! The co-chairs of this program will contact you to see how and where you’re able to fill in. Time Commitment – 1 or 2

 

Run Club

Gators are running every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday morning from 7:45-8:05 AM. We’re looking for some volunteers to help during this time! Our new co-chairs will contact you to see where you’d like to fill in. Time Commitment – 1 or 2
