School-Wide Behavior Plan

WHAT IS PBIS? Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a behavior framework that focuses on positive reinforcement, emphasizes a responsible and respectful school culture, reduces challenging behaviors, and increases positive outcomes. Research shows that challenging behaviors are reduced when teachers, staff, parents, and students provide consistency with modeling and encouraging positive behavior. Grand View has been working to roll out this research-based, multi-tiered framework and has developed the following GREAT expectations and values expressed in this common language:
  • Grateful
  • Respectful
  • Engaged
  • Aware
  • Trusted and kind
REINFORCEMENT Students exhibiting GREAT qualities can earn GREAT Gator slips that are celebrated in the classroom and, later, at home. Please join us in supporting home to school connectedness by using the same terms when you see your child exhibiting positive behavior at home. Questions?
