NIMO SHARES HIS MESSAGE

Nimo Patel graced Grand View with his songs and messages of compassion and courage last week. Our amazing students shared the many things they have done to give back since Nimo's last visit: holding Penny Wars to support food for 250 children at Matanya's Hope in Kenya; providing school supplies and equipment to Cura Orphanage in Kenya and to Somos Ohana in Nicaragua; making Lunches with Love for the homeless in Venice, CA; creating a pebble garden of gratitude; and so much more! Nimo's work survives through donations. To learn more about Nimo, or to kindly support his efforts in the slums of India, please click this story headline to visit Empty Hands Music and Foundation.

Parent support for MEASURE MB will make the difference

Measure MB will help retain high-quality teachers, maintain manageable class sizes, and protect quality instruction in math, reading, science, social studies, and art/music. The local funding measure would raise $2.6 million a year for six years, at an annual cost of $225 per parcel, to provide stable, reliable revenue for our schools. But this type of measure requires a super majority vote of 66.7% on June 5 to pass and the margin of victory is typically only 100 votes. EACH AND EVERY VOTE COUNTS. Please register to vote and encourage your children to register as well. Anyone age 16+ can pre-register and vote at age 18. Learn More, Endorse, and Donate at yesonmb.org.
